American Society of Interior Designers
The ASID student chapter creates a welcoming learning environment for beginning and continuing interior design students to understand the meaning and responsibility of the profession. The ASID works to prepare for real world projects and interactions. ASID membership provides opportunities to collaborate and network with students from different majors and connect with companies and communities.
Club members participate in collaborative design workshops with community members. One recent project involved collaboration with students from kinesiology, architecture, construction management and landscape architecture to develop a playscape master plan featuring multiple play nodes of natural materials.
Students in the interior design program enrich their learning experiences through participation in the community through Habitat for Humanity, CASA Quilts, Palouse Clearwater Environmental Institute, and projects through the WSU Center for Civic Engagement. Leadership and community involvement opportunities are available to future ASID members.
