I grew up in the Palouse region learning carpentry and design skills alongside my Dad and in high school. I later attended Carpentry & Cabinet-making college in Spokane and then transitioned to Eastern Washington University in Cheney, where I earned my Bachelor of Education, with an emphasis on Industrial Arts.

Twelve years accumulatively, I taught Woods, Metals, Drafting, Math, and Robotics courses at the 7-12 level and Basics of Industrial Mechanics at the Community College level.

Prior to full-time teaching I worked 9 years in Manufacturing for Sunrise Wood Products, Boeing, Schweitzer Engineering, and Pearson Packaging.

In the Shop setting, I have a passion for assisting students with transforming their ideas into reality, and I feel dovetailed here with the WSU School of Design & Construction family. I consider myself a life-long learner…just like my students. In my spare time I still design, construct, and remodel, participate in outdoor activities, BBQ, Volunteer as a Firefighter/EMT, and enjoy investing time with family and friends.
