As an assistant professor (career track), Jaime teaches a new student seminar course to enhance interpersonal communication, leadership, and team skills that introduce modules for success as an SDC student, as well as integrated travel courses and electives in social justice related to her areas of research.

As academic program manager and a member of the school’s leadership team, Jaime provides coordination for operations involving student admissions, advising, and academic progress. Jaime is simultaneously pursuing her PhD in Education, with an emphasis in Cultural Studies and Social Thought. A descendant of the Yakama Nation and Nisqually tribes in Washington State, Jaime’s research and teaching efforts strive to create learning opportunities for students to embrace their capacity and responsibility to address issues of social justice in the built environment.

Jaime threw javelin for the Track & Field team (’94 -’96) and has worked full-time for WSU since 1998. She was awarded VCEA Employee of the Year in 2018 and has also been honored with VCEA Staff Excellence in 2014, and WSU Spokane Administrative Professional Employee Excellence in 2010.
