Alex is a designer, artist, and planner whose professional career transects the fields of landscape architecture, urban planning, user experience design, and interactive arts. His work negotiates the intersection between critical theory, philosophy, and the natural, cultural, and technic processes at play in the world.
During his graduate studies, Alex completed user-centered design projects with Microsoft, Intel, and the University of Washington Behavioral Research and Therapy Clinics. His post-graduate work has focused on the public sector, including teaching engagements at Eastern Washington University, community planning and Placemaking with the Washington State Department of Transportation, and many urban design initiatives at the City of Spokane.
Alex was a member of the Richmond Art Collective (now disbanded), a resident of Laboratory Interactive Art Residency, and a founding member of the Democratic Socialists of America’s Spokane Chapter. He is also a past member-at-large with the Washington Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
