Computer Requirements

A computer with these specifications or better is required for all students at the start of the second year beginning Fall 2013.

Hardware (Minimum Requirements)

CPU: 2nd Generation Intel i3 or i5 Dual Core 1.8GHz (or higher, w/ hyperthreading) or equiv. AMD
Memory (RAM): 4 GB (or higher)
Hard drive: 300GB (or higher)
Graphics Card: 512MB RAM (1GB recommended)
Optical Drive, Wireless 802.11n,

Hardware (Recommended Requirements for use of Autodesk Revit, Maya, and other design software)

Form factor: Notebook
CPU: Intel i7 Quad Core (2.0GHz / 6MB cache or higher) or equiv. AMD
Memory (RAM): 8 GB (or higher)
Hard drive: 500GB (or higher)
Graphics Card: 1GB RAM, DirectX 10-capable graphics card with Shader Model 3 for advanced graphics is strongly recommended. (per Autodesk specifications)
Optical Drive, Wireless 802.11n,

Warranty
It is highly recommended that you purchase an extended warranty that will cover your notebook for the time that you will be in the program. We also recommend that you purchase the onsite warranty if it is offered. This will ensure that you do not have to mail the computer off for work and will greatly reduce any downtime for a warranty repair.

Microsoft Office (Incl Word, Excel & PowerPoint) **
AutoDesk Solution Suite ***
Google SketchUp Professional
Adobe CS Design Suite **
Other software is dependent on additional classes.

* Windows 7 is available to WSU students for free. (MAC Users will be required to run Windows 7 within OSX. Additional hard disk and RAM will be needed)

** Educational discount available for Microsoft Office and Adobe CS Design products.

*** Free educational version of Autodesk products are available through Autodesk website.
