On April 27, 2016, twenty seven third year undergraduate architecture students, led by faculty members Omar Al-Hassawi and Darrin Greichen, held their studio final reviews at the PACCAR Building located on WSU Pullman campus.
The students had been challenged to propose ideas for WSU’s entry to Solar Decathlon 2017. Their designs were critiqued by professionals from Seattle and Spokane as well as WSU faculty and graduate students.
On April 29,2016, Omar Al-Hassawi took eight architecture students (Idalia Guillen, Neva Hubbert, Saeed Alshidhani, Sean Anderson, Scott Buchman, Da Guo, Tobias Jimenez, and Tyler Prosser) to the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture (VCEA) Capstone Expo at the CUB Senior Ballroom where they exhibited their work alongside capstone projects from other schools in the VCEA. Their participation in this event was key to help share the ideas being developed for the Solar Decathlon with the larger university community, and to get faculty and students from across campus engaged in the process.
