Students learn modular construction process used in new campus hotel

September 9, 2016: Construction Management and Hospitality and Business Management students toured Guerdon Enterprises to learn about the modular construction process.  The tour allowed students to see the construction progression associated with the modular hotel units that will be part of the new Marriott Courtyard hotel on the WSU campus.

Stonebridge Companies (founder & CEO) Navin Dimond – ’85) initiated the creation of an industry sponsored, interdisciplinary course between Construction Management and Hospitality Business Management.  Through this course the students will research and test the hypothesis that modular construction is a viable process for future hotel construction.  The students will explore aspects of this project ranging from construction to the pro forma.
