Student takes first place award in light fixture competition

Jess Small, a student double majoring in construction management (B.S.) and architecture (M.Arch) will receive a $5000 award for first place in the Robert Bruce Thompson Annual Student Light Fixture Competition.

Small was first introduced to luminaire / lighting design in an Arch 493 Light / Lighting seminar course taught by interior design faculty member Judy Theodorson.

Small’s submission was chosen unanimously by the judges out of the 116 submissions this year.
