Saleh Kalantari, Ph.D., EDAC, is an assistant professor in the School of Design and Construction at Washington State University. He is an architect, interior designer, and researcher with experience working in the Middle East, Canada, and the United States.

Kalantari began his international career in Tehran with the creation of the Naghsh-Khiyal Studio, where he executed multiple architectural and interior design projects. This was followed by working for Parkin Architects, in Toronto. Kalantari completed his doctorate in architecture at Texas A&M University in 2014.

His areas of expertise include post-occupancy evaluation (POE), evidence-based design (EBD), building information modeling (BIM), parametric design, and the organization of the design process within large architectural firms. Kalantari has taught architectural and interior design studios at undergraduate and graduate levels—where his students won multiple AIA national design competitions.

Kalantari has collaborated with national and international research centers, including Qatar Research Foundation, Evidence-Based Design Research Lab, and the University of Southern California’s Robotics Research Lab, which resulted in multiple publications, conference presentations, and exhibitions.
