Judged by an industry panel including architects, engineers, contractors, and owners, the second place team was one of four competing in Phase 1 from WSU and includes students from Construction Management (Marie Landsverk, Steven Bradshaw, and Sam Rykken), Interior Design (Christina Andresen), and Architecture (Connor Schneider).
As Regional Finalists, the team completed and submitted the Phase 2 deliverable based upon a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a facility on a liberal arts college campus in the southeastern United States. Short-listed by the national judging panel, the WSU team then presented their proposal before a live jury at the 2016 Design-Build Conference & Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This year, 31 teams from 23 universities entered the competition to demonstrate design-build best practices. To learn more about the competition, please the DBIA National Student Competition website.
Congratulations to the WSU team and their advisor, Dr. David Gunderson!
