In the news: recent highlights and activities at the SDC

  • SDC students participating the Rural Communities Design Initiative’s efforts to redesign the Pufferbelly Depot were recently mentioned in a story on KLEW TV. The program is led by Interior Design faculty member Bob Krikac.
  • Omar Al-Hassawi gave tips to the Spokesman Review on hot to keep your home cool during summer heatwaves.
  • The National Institute of Building Sciences, Off-Site Construction Council, Associated Schools of Construction, and Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture released the results of a survey, co-authored by Ryan E. Smith,  to understand how institutions of higher education are teaching about off-site construction methods.
  • Landscape architecture professor and poet Jolie Kaytes reflects on the complex emotions and rational considerations about the Columbia River watershed through poems that give new ways to consider our part in the stories of the River in the current issue of WSU Magazine.
