The SDC Distinguished Guest Lecture Series presents Dr. Timothy Davis: “National Park Roads: Landscape Design, Engineering, and the American Experience.”
Timothy Davis, Ph.D., is a historian with the National Park Service in Washington, D.C. His book National Park Roads: A Legacy in the American Landscape was published in 2016 by the University of Virginia Press. Davis has written and lectured widely on roads, parks, and parkways, and much of his expertise comes from first-hand encounter. His research penetrates deeply into the age-old question of human intervention into America’s treasured, yet troubled landscapes.
The lecture will take place Wednesday, September 28 at 5pm in Cleveland Hall 30E.
