A student team from the Washington State University construction management program took second place at the regional Associated School of Construction student competition, the largest construction management competition in the U.S.
It was the fifth year in a row that the commercial team from WSU has placed in the competition, which is held annually in early February in Sparks, Nevada. More than 1300 students from 44 universities and 17 states participate.

By fall 2017, VCEA’s Solar Decathlon Team will need to design, build, and transport their entry across the country, where it will be showcased in front of a national audience.

Five third year interior design students (Yuriva Bueno, Harmony Connell, Aliyah Drugge, Julie Nguyen and Abigail Metcalf) recently competed in the IIDA (International Interior Design Association) Regional Student Design Charrette sponsored by IIDA Pacific Northwest Chapter in Seattle.
Two students (Abigail and Yuriva) placed in the competition with first place and second place, respectively, in the team category.
As a first place winner, Abigail has been invited to participate in the regional competition with other students from the greater west coast area. The winning team will be given a spot to compete at the national IIDA student design charrette at NeoCon 2016.

A team of construction management students from Washington State University won the Northwest Construction Consumer Council’s annual Student Bid Competition in February 2016.
The event was held at the Cascade Bicycle Club in Seattle. Students bid actual tenant improvements done by Hoffman Construction for the bicycle club at Magnuson Park.
The WSU team, pictured below, was Michael Ruether, Brad Neudorfer, Marcus Konopaski, Kate Wallen, Stephen Bradshaw, and Marie Landsverk.
Other schools in the competition were the University of Washington, Central Washington University, and Oregon State University.
